Obituary of Mary E. Duell

Athol: Mary E. Duell, 67, of Mountain Road, passed away in her home, Friday, March 16, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Born April 19, 1944 in Diamond Point, she was the daughter of the late Silas and Ella (Stanley) Sutphin. Mary was a lifelong resident of the area and was a 1962 graduate of Warrensburg Central School. She married Karl J. Duell, Jr. and the couple enjoyed 13 years together. Mary was employed with the Warren County Sheriff’s Department as a cook for 15 years. She was well known for her “mean” spaghetti sauce by her family and friends. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family. Mary will be remembered for her open heart and will be missed by all. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Karl Duell, Jr.; her siblings: Wilbert Sutphin, Brenda Irwin. She is survived by her beloved children: DeDe Bolton and her companion, Charles Haskell of Athol; Jeff Duell and his wife, Amanda of East Greenwich; Tanya Luker Coleman and her husband, Perry of Nashville, TN; grandchildren: Aries and Ciera Bolton of Warrensburg; Casey Fish, Josh Hart, Brett Duell, Derrick Duell, Molly Duell, and Keaten Duell; her siblings: Wiley Sutphin, Bob Sutphin, Ross Sutphin, and Leonard Sutphin. At Mary’s request, private services will be conducted at the convenience of the family.
