Obituary of Boyd B. Guynes

Stony Creek: Boyd B. Guynes, 70, of Harrisburg Road, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 12, 2012 at his home following a long illness. He was born December 9, 1941 in New Jersey. During his childhood, Boyd spent many summers at the farm in Stony Creek with his uncle Jack and in the early 60’s settled there permanently. Boyd was a jack of all trades and helped whenever and wherever needed. He loved the mountains and knew all the best fishing holes. He had a green thumb and could often be found tending to his own or a friend’s flowers and vegetables. Boyd’s favorite pastime was visiting his friends throughout the north-country and one never knew where or when he would pop in. He will be remembered by his boisterous laugh, sense of humor and generous heart. He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Rena Guynes and his uncle Jack Baker. He leaves behind many dear friends including his long time companion, Jean Walters, JoAnn and John Mosher, Maureen and Larry Zinda, Patti Turi and Boyd’s “special kid,” Jon Turi, and Jeff Thomas all of Stony Creek, Lou Fisher of Johnsburg; Carolyn and Bill Cameron of Wevertown and a list that goes on and on. Friends may pay their respects to Boyd from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, Monday, January 16 at Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main Street Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate Boyd’s life will follow the visitation at the funeral home. Friends are encouraged to share their fond memories. Spring internment will be in Knowlhurst Cemetery, Stony Creek. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Stony Creek E.M.S.
